This holiday season, our studio in Lexington, South Carolina, had the privilege of hosting another magical Santa Experience.
It was an incredible day full of joy, laughter, and unforgettable moments with some new families and a lot of our favorite loyal clients.
The Magic of Santa
There’s something truly magical about the wonder in a child’s eyes when they first meet Santa. This year, we had the joy of welcoming so many families into our studio, capturing memories that will last a lifetime. From wide-eyed little ones to siblings sharing in the excitement, every session was filled with heartwarming moments of holiday magic.
Each visit brought its own unique blend of joy and humor. Whether it was a shy child hesitant to meet Santa or a moment of pure awe as a little one shared their holiday wish, every interaction reminded us of the enchantment that Christmas brings. We loved seeing families laugh, children beam with excitement, and those sweet, candid moments that tell the story of the season.
The Best Part...
One of my favorite parts of hosting Santa sessions each year is the opportunity to see familiar faces. Because our studio focuses on meaningful moments, we have the privilege of meeting families celebrating milestones that we’re honored to capture throughout the year.
It’s so much fun seeing our newborns revisit the studio for their first holiday season and witnessing how much they’ve grown since their newborn sessions. Many of these families return year after year, and it’s truly heartwarming to watch their children grow and their family bonds deepen through these special moments.
One such family, whose journey with us I’ll definitely be sharing more about, gave us one of my favorite Santa images this year. Baby Sister, now 7 months old, wasn’t thrilled about being held by anyone but Mommy. Santa was no exception, and she began to fuss almost immediately. But the image I’m talking about wasn’t of her tears—it was a moment just before. As Baby Sister started to get upset, Big Sister turned to her, gently took her hand, and tried to comfort her.
These heartfelt moments are what I truly cherish. While I adore posed portraits, I equally love capturing memories that will not only live in our minds but can also be held in our hands. As someone who doesn’t have many childhood photos, these moments remind me why I do what I do. Memories are beautiful, but there’s something truly special about being able to pick up a printed photograph and say, “This is a moment we froze in time.”
