The arrival of your new baby brings about a plethora of emotions. Happiness, anxiety, pride, and fulfillment. We want to make sure each tiny feature and precious expression is captured. This time is fleeting. You only get one opportunity to capture this moment in your child's life.
Harpsy Portraiture specializes in newborn photography and we have completed multiple safety courses and classes to ensure your little one is taken care of during their newborn session. Newborn sessions are scheduled between 5 and 14 days after your little one's arrival. Our fully-equipped studio is stocked with luxe wraps, outfits, and props. As well as a multitude of set-ups and backdrops to capture a variety of portraits for you to choose for your home. We capture family poses, sibling poses, and individual newborn poses. We provide a warm and comfortable atmosphere for your baby to feel calm and relaxed. This is especially vital in order to capture those precious newborn poses. Our studio also offers an area for parents to sit comfortably during your newborn's individual portraits.
Our full-service portrait studio offers a variety of prints and products for you to adorn your home with your favorite images from your session. What a newborn session looks like...
Before Your Session
We want to make sure your newborn photography session produces beautiful images of your precious new addition. Our hope is to capture photos with YOU in mind. To accomplish this, we like to have a discussion with each of our newborn clients prior to their session in order to find out what you're hoping to achieve. We also send out a newborn questionnaire at the time of booking so we can plan colors and props according to your interests and style.
During Your Session
When you arrive at our studio, we will begin immediately. Your completed questionnaire will help me in deciding colors, style, and themes. Depending on baby's mood, we'll determine whether we begin with backdrop or prop poses. If young children are included, we will begin with family/sibling poses in order to ensure we're using our time wisely when older siblings/children are involved. Afterwards, we'll finish your session and capture any poses still remaining. We'll capture your newborn in solo photos featuring different wraps, backdrops, props, and poses. A newborn session can last between 2 to 4 hours due to the variety of setups we hope to achieve. This ensures we photograph a multitude of images to fill your custom gallery with portraits you'll love.
After Your Session
Once we've captured all of the shots we're hoping to capture, we'll finish your session and you'll head out. Our goal is to have at least 30 images for you to choose from. We'll custom enhance your best images for your gallery. You'll decide on which images you would like to have as wall art, tabletop decor, and/or gifts.
Your in-studio Reveal & Ordering Appointment will be scheduled 7 to 14 days after your session. This is where you will decide which images are your favorites and what products you would love to display in your home.
